Brass Band of the Colombian Caribbean
We are Papayebrass, we were born on November 3, 2016 in Santo Tomás, Atlántico. A brass and percussion band formed by 8 musicians, 7 wind instrumentalists and a drummer. Our name is a fusion of the “papayeras” wind bands from the Colombian Caribbean and the “brass bands” from North America.

This musical proposal reflects a mix of Colombian rhythms and modern sounds, perfect for lovers of music and folklore.
We have performed on major stages in Colombia, including the Barranquilla International Carnival of the Arts and Bogotá’s Jazz al Parque festival. Additionally, we won the BUM BUM Sessions (2023) and showcased our music at the Bogotá Music Market (BOmm), TEDx Barranquilla, and various festivals nationwide.
We blend our musical performance with a unique stage presence. During the summer of 2024, we toured Europe, performing in countries such as Italy, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Belgium, and Austria.
We have also appeared on television, including the documentary “La Ruta del Magdalena” on RTVC.
